We're happy to post the results of the election this past Tuesday:

Vice President: Kevin Talley
Secretary: Leanna Carskaddon
Treasurer: Elyse Goin

Stepping away as a board member this upcoming year will be Tommy Bryant; we appreciate and are grateful for his help in steering the club in 2016.
The BoD also voted for the upcoming year to meet quarterly versus having monthly meetings, and will be try having a rotating meeting venue.
The next SSFTA Board of Directors and General Meeting will be held January 10th, 2017 at Temblor Brewing on Buck Owens Drive.
Also, the BoD will be encouraging rotating ride leaders for all the club rides (Monday/Wednesday/Thursday nights, and both Saturday and Sunday) to help take the load off of any one ride leader, plus open folks up to new trails in the area. The Board of Directors would like to thank all of those that take the responsibility on of being a ride leader, we truly appreciate it!
Joe Grimaldi has been elected as Rider of the Month for December, and Eddie Gonzales has been elected Rider of the Month for January. Congratulations fellas, you both are very deserving of this award.

Keyesville Trail Day

With the winter storms lately, the Keyesville XC course is in need of trail maintenace. The Keyesville Classic is March 18th-19th, and the SoCal High School league is holding an event on March 27th. The NICA crew is hosting a trail work day on March 11th, and are hoping to get it all done, but they need volunteers. We, along with our friends at the Tehachapi Mountain Trails Association are headed up to lend a hand. If you have a few hours to volunteer, we would appreciate it.

The plan will be to hold a brief meeting in the infield/race staging area promptly at 9:00 am before breaking off into smaller groups to hit multiple sections of trail. There is plenty of work to be done but the majority of the day will be focused on rut filling. At this moment I am not sure exactly how long it will take to get everything done but my hope is to having everything wrapped up by 2pm so that we can all grab a bit of pizza at Pizza Factory (SoCal's treat).
TMTA has graciously offered to bring out some tools and a utility vehicle but please feel free to bring out anything that you have as well. The SoCal league also has some of its own tools that volunteers may use.
As far as safety attire goes it is preferable that all persons working on trail have eye protection, gloves, and a pair of sturdy boots at minimum. At this moment the forecast is predicting lows in the 40's to highs in the 70's so please come expecting cold weather.
Lastly a few of us plan on camping and I am sure most of us plan on riding so please be sure to bring a bike and if you wish some camping gear.

Southern Sierra Fat Tire Association is a fun, non-profit, social gathering of mountain bike enthusiasts committed to serving and promoting the sport of mountain biking in Kern County.
