Labor Day Ride - 9/1/14

This upcoming Monday is Labor Day! For those of you who have the day off, come join Bob Sughrue on an all level ride celebrating not working (and all the things we got done when we were working). The ride will leave from Thorner at 8:00am so everyone can enjoy sleeping in. All levels are welcome, beginner through advance, on this parade through the foothills!

Mini Skills Course – 9/6/14

The boards are coming back! Join the SSFTA in the Thorner parking lot to ride our mini skills course at 7:00am on Saturday, September 6, 2014. Our beginner ride leader, Bob Sughrue, would like to invite all riders to work on their bunny hopping and balance skills while its still cool outside. After the mini skills course is over, come join the group for a ride through the foothills to experience the dirt first hand! The ride will be led by Bob and is suitable for all beginner and novice riders!

Come join the fun!

Contact the club if you have any questions.

Kern Wheelmen Spooktacular Training Ride - 8/30/14

Taken from the Kern Wheelmen's Facebook page:

We have a Spooktacular training ride scheduled for this Saturday, August 30th. We'll start from the Shell Mini Mart at the corner of Edison & Comanche at 7:00 a.m. There will be SAG support for this ride.
Routes will vary. Options are as follows:

Tejon to Arvin Water District and return. Flat, 20-25 miles.

Add White Wolf to the National Cemetery, return via Bena/Edison. Under 40 miles.

Option 3 for this route, add a drop into Caliente from Bena Road and back up.

And if anyone wants to go up to Twin Oaks or up Lion's Trail, we will try to provide SAG for that also.

These routes are part of the Metric, 90-mile and Horrendous Hundred routes. Our next Spook training rides are scheduled for September 20th and October 4th.

Hope to see you on Saturday.
